The
Story
The meaning behind the name....
Béla (or bél) translates to “heart,” and the name itself symbolizes bravery and strength of character. Now you’re probably wondering how that all ties together, so let me take you back to the beginning…
Béla is the name of both my grandfather and my great-grandfather. To make a very long story short, my great-grandfather, Béla, my great-grandmother, Ibalya, and my grandfather (who was originally named Béla but has since legally changed his name to Albert) were all born and raised in Budapest, Hungary.
In the 1950s, Russia invaded Hungary, and Béla was stripped of everything he and his family had. He was captured and forced to help Russian soldiers because he held a doctorate, and they assumed he was a physician. (He attended medical school for two years but ultimately earned a doctorate in law, so he was able to fake it till he made it.)
Somehow, Béla eventually managed to escape. Soon after, Ibalya was captured and questioned for several months in hopes that she would reveal her husband’s whereabouts. As time went on, she was released. Her story was simple: one day, he went fishing and never came home.
Béla was able to smuggle himself onto a train operated by Ibalya’s uncle and made it across the border into Austria. Later, Albert was hidden in the coal chute of one of those trains so he, too, could make it safely to Austria and reunite with his father. Ibalya was the last to leave behind the life they had built in Hungary, and she eventually reunited with her family.
The Bagoly family remained in Vienna, Austria, for several years before immigrating to the United States through Ellis Island after being sponsored by a family through a church in Youngstown, Ohio- where Albert and my grandmother, Bev, still live today.
The name of this business is an ode to everything my grandfather and his family endured all those years ago, as well as to the courage, resilience, and heart it takes to begin a new chapter and build something of your own. Within the logo, you’ll find a Hungarian poppy flower resting atop the fine-line profile- a small but meaningful tribute to my family’s roots.
So much thought and love have gone into this business name and logo. I am so grateful you’re here, and I can’t wait to pour back into my community.

My name is Alyssa-
For the past ten years, I've had the privilege of working in emergency medicine- a career that has challenged me, inspired me, and reinforced the importance of compassion, quick thinking, and putting people first.
I've been a Registered Nurse for the majority of those ten years, and every step of my nursing journey has been in the Emergency Department, where no two days are ever the same.
One of the most rewarding parts of my career has been traveling across the country as a travel nurse. Working in hospitals with different teams, patient populations, and care environments has helped me grow not only as a clinician but also as a person. It has taught me to adapt quickly, communicate effectively, and remain calm under pressure while always keeping patient safety at the center of every decision.
Beyond the hospital, I love giving back to my community. For the past 12 years, I've volunteered in the medical tent at the Flying Pig Marathon, providing care to runners and supporting an event that brings so many people together. It's one of my favorite traditions each year.
I'm someone who genuinely enjoys learning and challenging myself. Whether it's developing new clinical skills, exploring better ways to care for patients, or taking on new experiences, I'm always looking for opportunities to grow.
At the heart of everything I do is a simple goal: to provide compassionate, high-quality care while helping people feel safe, heard, and supported. I believe that trust is built through knowledge, empathy, and treating every person with the respect and care they deserve. I can't wait to get to know you, and I'm so grateful you're here!
